Mr. DALE COOK, Founder and Managing Director

DALE is a pre-eminent exponent of Executive Leadership and Board Governance in multinational Mining and Resource firms, applying expertise in pivotal roles driving transformation, operational effectiveness and commercial success. An inspiring Transformational Leader able to genuinely engage at all stakeholder levels with an open mind and flexibility. He is an intelligent decision maker exhibiting agile strategic thought and planning in the most complex of commercial environments.
He is now back in Australia, after 8 ½ years working out of Singapore, having >25 years of working experience. Starting off as a Lawyer in Queensland, Australia when he finished university, he later changed careers to be an Accountant, moving into Mining & Resources with operations in Australia, South Africa and Brazil with sales & marketing of bulk commodities globally. He managed teams accross China, Europe, South Africa, South American and the UK. He has been a Special Adviser to the Singapore Mining Club, and was recently the Singapore Community Chair representing the Advisory Board Centre in Singapore and remains a Member of Faculty. Dale is also appointed as Board Chair and Director on corporate Boards covering Mining, Energy, Renewables and Electric Vehicle Charging Systems.
He has worked with a variety of large Mining & Resource companies including Anglo American, Glencore (Xstrata), Vale, Aquila Resources, Peabody Energy and Newmont Goldcorp. Dale’s roles have been in areas of Law, Finance & Accounting, Strategy Development & Implementation, Governance, Projects, Organisational Design & Change, Business Performance & Improvement, General Management, Digital Innovation and Company Directorships, providing a breadth of experience to his already strong skillset. He is a certified ScrumMaster having been trained in Agile and Design Thinking techniques.
Adept at accelerating the profitable growth of stand-alone and strategic Business Units, he has demonstrated success with early-stage business activity as well as in operations-intensive and mature businesses. His command of finance, accounting, business performance, cash flow, operations, sales, marketing has enabled him to create a commercial vision that provides a positive impact on the P&L and measured ROI.
Whilst Dale may be relentless about commercial strategy, data-driven analysis, and operational excellence, he is passionate about developing people and his management approach believes in delivery through unlocking the potential of people in the teams with whom he works. This is why he is an Industry Mentor with WIMAR SG and the University of Southern Queensland.
Dale is currently completing research for a Doctor of Business Administration (Innovation) through Singapore Management University, having already attained an MBA (Double Majors: Strategy & Planning; Leadership & Communication) from Deakin University, Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce from James Cook University and a PostGrad Cert in Science from University of Southern Queensland. Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). Certified Chair, Approved Advisor and Member of Faculty with the Advisory Board Centre. A Qualified Listed Entity Director (QLED) for the Singapore Stock Exchange, member of the Singapore Institute of Directors (MSID), Queensland Law Society (MQLS) and Golden Key International.
